Bad Fish

Posted by ethelried on 1/5/2009

I have been going to Fuji for 8 years, I live down the street regularly order take-out. Tonight when my boyfriend and I dined in, we not only waited an hour for our food to come out (meanwhile watching two other tables come in, eat and leave) but when our food finally did arrive, two of our baked rolls had obviously been sitting out. I have cut them slack in the past when the food was not the freshest, but tonight I chose to (kindly) bring it to their attention and was met with grief and lack of concern. The manager asked what he could do, but refused to take the items off the bill as we had asked. After offering to pay the bill in full just so we could leave, we sat waiting several more minutes while the sushi chef gave us the evil eye. With so many other (better) sushi restaurants around, you would think Fuji wouldn't risk losing such loyal customers over $25 worth of bad fish. Banned.

All Rice No Fish

Fuji used to be the place to go when I was attending Rollins College. They had authentic looking wait staff and substantial pieces of fish in the rolls. Ever since the beginning of this year Fuji has unaccomadating wait staff and they serve the tiniest pieces of fish inside their rolls, there is so much rice around the rolls that it is a total rip off for your money. Why pay top dollar for 30 cent rice? I'm sorry to say that whoever took over as management has not upheld the standard that Fuji once was. Check out Hana Sushi is Altamonte Springs!

great place to eat for sushi lovers

I really don't understand what the bad reviews are for, I eat Sushi once or twice a month been to pretty much all sushi restaurants in a 50 mile radius of orlando and inside orlando, and this place is the best, its a bit crowded but I'm a huge person, prompt seating even if you don't have reservations, and the sushi is incredible, it reminds me of a traditional Japanese sushi house. The prices are good a bit lower then most places and I believe the food tastes better then the other places. and if you don't feel like sitting in a reataurant that can get crowded which means its gotta be good if its packed you can always do take out with them which takes a bit longer and is better to call in first for that because they believe sitting customers should come first which is a great idea. I've seen the management even talked to them the waitresses are great as well check up on you to see if everything is good and to see if there is anything else you need and you get your check promptly when you want to leave. out of the 50 or so times i've gone to this sushi restaurant i haven't had any issues or problems.
